The Sin Of Trust?
In this episode we can see how man for trusting extraterrestrial beings and accepting all their gifts, is punished in the end by being abducted by these beings and presumably cooked. This man was only translating a book that was given to them. The title was to "Serve Man". With this the man trusted the aliens and went on their spaceship which was ultimately a sentence of death for him. This is in no way any kind of poetic justice. The greatest crime he did was to get on their spaceship thinking he would be welcomed in their world. In order for it to be poetic justice it should be the aliens that get punished and eaten for causing all that harm to innocent people. Although, you can also think of it as the man getting punished for helping all those people that got on the ship with the aliens trust them. It could be that due to all the people that will get eaten because of his misplaced trust he should suffer such a fate first. In the end there is no way to be sure if he was being punished by the punishment he made other suffer unconsciously or it simply bad things happening to people like on Job.
